Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN MOVED FROM SATURDAY, MAY 6 TO SUNDAY, MAY 7 DUE TO UNFAVORABLE WIND CONDITIONS

Lake Seed is a 240 acre reservoir with 13 miles of shoreline, located in Rabun County, in the northeastern corner of Georgia and is formed by the Nacoochee Dam over the Tallulah River.

We have recently paddled Lake Rabun, which is the next lake in a six-lake series that follows the original course of the Tallulah River, and have been looking forward to exploring this one, once seeing it as we drove by.

As much as we have been able to determine, there is only one small boat ramp and parking area available.

This paddle is suitable for beginners, but remember that it is flat water, so consistent paddling will be required and wind conditions can affect the level of difficulty.

This is a bring your own boat (kayak or canoe) event and you  must be able to obain your own equipment.

The promo picture above shows the route that we are planning to take, but please be flexible, as this is new to us, as well.  Be prepared to eat you lunch/snack in your boat, if we can not find a suitable area to stop.
