Itinerary:

Come join me for a fun night hike at Pernoshal & Brook Run Parks in Dunwoody. We will be hiking at a moderate 3.0 pace on a concrete trail.

There are bathroom facilities at this site.

Pernoshal Park opened 4/23/16. It is a 5-acre park that includes a pavilion, bathrooms, basketball courts, a pickle-ball court, a large open field area for play and a connecter trail which crosses Nancy Creek to Brook Run Park.

Pickle-ball was invented in 1965 on Bainbridge Island, outside Seattle, WA. The goal of Pickle-ball then and now was to create a game that is fun for every member of the family. It is a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It is played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net. It is played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes and as doubles or singles.

Brook Run Park opened in approximately 2011. It is a 102-acre park and is the largest park in Dunwoody. The park features include a large children’s playground, 2-mile trail loop, skate park, dog park, community garden, and event facility.

PLEASE arrive by 7:50 pm for time to use restroom facilities, socializing & introductions. Out of respect for the majority of people who arrive on time, we will leave PROMPTLY at 8:00 pm.

Out of respect for the majority of people who arrive on time, we will start the hike  PROMPTLY at 8:00 pm.

Pre-Hike Snack/Dinner at Cafe Sababa - Mediterranean Grill (see Notes for details). An Israeli native prepares Middle Eastern fare such as shawarma & kabobs. In both Hebrew and Arabic, the word “sababa” is slang for “awesome,” “fun,” or “cool.”. PLEASE tell me in the notes when you register if you are joing me at Cafe Sababa so I know how big a table to reserve or stay home until hike.

Come shine your light on a fun trail through the parks & woods.
