Itinerary:

NOTE: This is a rescheduled event that was postponed due to rain. Attendees from that event were carried over in their order of registration.

Please join me for an exhilarating hiking adventure at close-to-home Pine Mountain in Cartersville.

Our custom route features a figure-8 loop across Pine Mountain, including a side trail to the top and a spectacular 180-degree view of Allatoona Lake, Vineyard Mountain, and the surrounding area; a walk to historic Cooper's Furnace and the picturesque Riverside Park Day Use Area, with a close-up view of the Etowah River and Allatoona Dam; and a trek up to the Allatoona Lake Visitor Center and another commanding view of the area.

Estimated distance is a little over 9 miles, with expected elevation gain of up to 2,000 ft. Our pace will be moderate, probably averaging about 2.5 mph. We'll take several brief breaks to hydrate, as well as a snack/lunch break along the Etowah River at about the halfway point.

This event will begin and end at the easily accessible Pine Mountain West trailhead, which features a large free parking lot and is conveniently located just off I-75.

This is a solid D4, so please have recent D4 or above experience before signing up.
