Itinerary:

Ravens Cliff Falls

This is one of the most popular hikes in North Georgia. Come out for a day of hiking and doing a good deed of Trail Clean up. I will supply trash bags and rubber gloves. We will hike and pick up any trash along the way.

Ravens Cliff Falls plummets over a 125 foot rock cliff, This is a very moderate 2.5 mile hike to the falls (5 miles round trip) . The path begins as a wide road near the junction of Dodd and Bear Den Creek. The trail closely follows Dodd Creek up to the falls. On the path several additional waterfalls add to the beauty of this hike.

We will walk along the creek that is usually not more than 50 feet from the path through a hardwood forest. There is often a variety of flora along the path.

As we approach the Cliffs you will hear the rushing water of the falls. The water rushes through a split in the rocks. A short path leads to the top of the falls where we will rest and have a snack. The climb to the top can be a challenging for some but is well worth the effort.

Dukes Falls is about a 3 mile trail roundtrip. It is mostly paved. We will have time to stop and take photos.

We will hike a little more than 8 miles and have about 1000 feet of elevation gain throughout the day.  Please use caution of the roots on the Raven Cliff Trail. There is a $4 parking fee at Dukes falls. Please bring a National Parks Pass if you have one or share the fee with your driver. Carpooling is Highly Recommended. There is very limited parking throughout the day.

There will be an option to have a late lunch/early dinner in Helen.
