Itinerary:

Please join us for a beautiful hike on the fabulous Atlanta Eastside Beltline.

We will be meeting behind the Publix (parking lot on the back right) on Monroe Drive in Ansley Mall.  We will hop on the unpaved portion of the Eastside Beltline and walk through Piedmont Park until we reach the paved portion of the beltline.   From there we will walk the paved portion through Old Fourth Ward and Inman Park. We will do a quick trek down the newly paved portion just south of Irwin Street to the old Krog Street tunnel which is almost a century old.  This tunnel which connects Inman Park and Cabbagetown shows graffiti by gifted artists and is used as a social calendar for underground events in the city.  Really cool to see.  We will then go over to the Krog Street Market where we will take about 45 minutes for lunch/snacks.   After lunch we will head back on the beltline the way we came.

Now in its 8th year, Art on the Beltline has returned to bring new art to the beltline corridor.  The south's largest public temporary art exhibition runs only through November.   Bring your camera or use your cell phone to take pictures of the amazing art.

Total distance for this hike is approx 8 miles. We will be walking the majority of our hike on pavement with no elevation.  Before signing up please be sure that you are able to keep a steady pace for at least 8 miles. Please note that this hike is almost all in the sun.  No shade.  If you are sun sensitive please bring a hat and/or sunscreen.

We will be meeting on the back right side of Publix at Ansley Mall on Monroe Drive.

For more info about the beltline and the art exhibit please go to www.beltline.org
