Itinerary:

The plan is to complete hikes at both Tallulah Gorge and Black Rock Mountain State Parks.  There is a short roughly 30 minute drive between the two parks. Both trip leaders tend to move fairly quickly but like to look at scenery. Expect a moving pace of at least 3 mph but some extended stops to check things out.

We will be attempting to get Gorge permits at Tallulah Gorge if the weather permits which is why we are shooting to get there right as the park opens. The rim trails plus gorge floor trail cover about 3 miles with around 1000 ft of elevation gain. Please note that the gorge floor trail isn't really much of a trail and is very rocky and involves two easy river fords. Also depending on the temperature people may want to slide down the waterfall or swim a bit at the end of the gorge floor trail.

Once done with this part of the trip we will drive down the road to Black Rock Mountain State Park and complete the James E. Edmonds, Black Rock Lake, and Tennessee Rock trails for another 10 miles and roughly 2700 ft of elevation gain.

If you have a GA State Park annual pass it would be great if you could bring it to save the group a few bucks.
