Join us for easy hike while enjoying talking with friends, meeting new friends, and walking at a moderate pace. If you've never done this trail before, it hasn't come up on the AOC calander recently where it's not a D3 or fast paced event, this will be a good time to experience some beautiful trails at a more casual pace.
The Leita Thompson Memorial is a very pretty trail located in Roswell, GA. It's made of soft, small gravel and plenty wide to walk side by side. It's very wooded and clean and has a few nice little hills.
A little more information on the park:
There are no bathrooms, but there are three sets of porta potties throughout the park. And - - of course - - there are plenty of trees.
Please arrive a few minutes before the hike is scheduled to start to check in. I will start on time, so please arrive a few minutes early, in case you have to park your car in the overflow lot about 1/8 mile from the pavilion lot.
|How to Get There:|
1200 Woodstock Rd
Roswell, GA 30075
It's best to use maps.google.com and map directions from your destination. You can go to maps.google.com and enter the bold text below in to the search bar. If you chose Satelite View, you can see a birdseye view of the parking lot.
There is a green roofed pavillion very close to Woodstock Rd. You can see it easily from the road and it says "Leita Thompson Pavillion." There is a road on the East side of that and it leads directly to the parking lot.
You may want to (or need to) park in the overflow parking lot that can be accessed from the main lot if the main lot is full. It's only 1/8 of a mile down a shaded road.
