Itinerary:

Join us for a hike on the trails of the Sawnee Mountain Preserve. We'll be hiking the Indian Seats trail. The  summit of the preserve visibly links to the summit of the Blue Ridge Mountain Range, it offers a great view! Sawnee Mountain preserve is also home to some of the rich history of the woodland culture of North Georgia’s Native American inhabitants.

We'll  hike up to the Indian Seats, a natural rock formation at the top of the trail system, which offers a beautiful setting for enjoying the views of the North Georgia Mountains. Here we can take a little time to enjoy the view. The trail closes at 7pm, so we will hike to the observation deck for a brief view and then promptly return.

We'll meet in front of the Sawnee Mountain Preserve Visitor Center on Spot Rd. We will begin hike promptly at 5 pm becuase the trails close at 7pm, and hike directly to the Indian Seats to enjoy the view!

If you would like to enjoy the Sawnee Mountain Preserve Visitor Center arrive well before 5 because they close at 5pm. Admission is free of charge. The Center features interactive exhibits on the natural and cultural histories of Sawnee Mountain and a resource library/lounge for visitors to relax and read.

Due to the time change it will most likely be dusk/dark before we complete the hike. Please be sure to bring a light and proper attire.
