Itinerary:

Join me for a casual hike on Satuday morning at Sweetwater State Park. We will be hiking the white, red, yellow and orange trails at a steady but not fast pace. Sweetwater is beautiful park to visit all year long with its scenery, rapids, mill ruins, and modern interpretive center.

We will start our hike from the visitor's center on the white trail for about 3.5 miles, then connect with the red trail for about one mile which runs along the creek, past rapids and mill ruins which then leads us to the yellow trail. The yellow trail which is a 3 mile loop starts out flat and runs along Sweetwater Creek, we will hike up a hill for 350 foot elevation gain which leads to the orange trail. This trail has several rolling hills that lead through hardwood trees. We will meet up with yellow trail again which will bring us back to our starting point. All of these trails have varied terrain with rocky areas and tree roots. Study hiking shoes are recommended.

We will meet at the event, no carpool will be organized.

Dogs are allowed on a 6 foot leash. Bring water for your dog.

Entrance fee is $5.00 unless you have a Georgia State Park Pass.
