Itinerary:

Cool fall days are the best time for running.  The crisp air makes running feel easier now than any other time of the year.  The moderate trails of Roswell Area Park offer a beautiful place to begin. We will take it slow and easy - run three minutes/walk one, 3:1 for three miles. This is a good way to start running and nearly everyone can run for three minutes, rest and repeat.

The non-technical trails of soft pea-gravel and asphalt are kind to your feet while the gentle undulations will give your legs a nice workout. We'll go past playgrounds and soccer fields through the trees and around a small pond. The pace will be slow enough and the trails wide enough for conversation.

Starting from the first parking lot on the left, we'll cover 3.1 miles. If we keep a easy pace of 13 minutes per mile (including walk breaks), we will easily be finished by 10:45 am. Be prepared to maintain this pace and stay with the group.  If you are struggling to keep up or decide to leave the group during the hike, please let me or another member know.

New AOC members are welcome to join this event! This is a beginner trail run and is not necessarily easy. There are a couple of hills. It is, however, a good introduction to trail running and maintaining a consistant pace in a group.

Plan to arrive ten minutes early to meet our fellow runners and so we can start on time.

This is a dog-friendly park, with many dogs on the trail.  You are welcome to bring your dog if he or she is already used to running with you. Please pick up any messes your dog makes.
