Itinerary:

Here's an easy backpacking trip on the Chattooga River Trail.

We'll drive to the trailhead at Russell's Bridge (hwy 28 crosses Chattooga river), and hike about 4 miles approximately to the area just down river from LickLog creek. We may need to hike a little further depending on what is available, since you can't reserve a camping area.

After setting up camp, eating lunch, and collecting firewood, you're free to do whatever you want! Hiking, fishing, relaxing.....collecting more wood...?!.

In the evening, we plan on having a fire, and some campfire music. If you like to sing in groups, let us know, and we'll share what songs we like to play. Dancing, merriment and more...that makes it a lot more fun while we play music.

On Sunday, we'll take our time to have breakfast and enjoy the area before breaking camp. Mornings in the mountains are awesome, and don't want to hurry back to the city. However, if you arrange it at the carpool, you're free to leave as early as you want with your carpool group. Hard to get lost on this trail...it's just there and back.

There will be a 3 dog limit. Must be friendly and well behaved. Expect to drive your own car if you bring your dog.

Leave no trace, paper products only to be burned in fire.

Arrange with trip leaders or other friends PRIOR to event if you plan to/need to share any equipment.

Thanks to Jay G, Kristi E., Scott K., Michael J and perhaps others, who added their two cents to the description over the years. :-)
