Itinerary:

New to Atlanta? Let's take a mini sight- seeing tour of the city. (This is the 2nd of many sight-seeing tours that I have planned.)

We will meet at the Georgia Power building in Downtown (see address and parking instructions below.) (There are no public restrooms here. ) GPC is located across from the soon-to-be- demolished Atlanta Civic Center. From there, we will begin our sight-seeing hike of Downtown.

We'll head to Peachtree Street towards Undergr ound Atlanta, Woodruff Park, and Five Points. We'll stop again at Centennial Olympic Park for a break before heading over to the Omni and CNN Center, Georgia World Congress Center, Mercedes-Benz Stadium (new home of the Falcons). On our way back to GPC, we'll also pass by the Georgia Aquarium and the Center for Civil and Human Rights.

There are some hilly spots in downtown, but nothing daunting. It's all sidewalk with spots that have grating, which you can walk around if you're not comfortable with walking on grating.

Near the end of the hike, we will stop at the Mall at Peachtree Center and have a snack/lunch or do some shopping before making our way back via the skybridge to the Marriott Marquis (where scenes from The Hunger Games was filmed) and then back to GPC.

* There will be no official stops for restroom breaks. We'll stop as needed. There are many venues in the city that have restrooms that we can use.

This hike is rescheduled from the snow day we had in Atlanta a few weeks ago. The forecast for this new day promises to be "lots of sun".

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

The physical address for Georgia Power is:

241 Ralph McGill Blvd. NE

Atlanta, GA 30308

It is located across the street from the Atlanta Civic Center. There are several entrances to the building. The one to the parking lot, where we will meet, is on the Ralph McGill side. Go to the far left parking lot. This is the visitor's lot. (I work at GPC and have gotten permission for everyone to park here.)
