Itinerary:

**Update** I moved this hike from Feb 6 to Feb 20.  There was too much rain on Feb 4 and this would make water crossings risky.

Elevation gain is approximately 3362 feet.

Distance is 14.5 miles.

You must have D5 experience.  This is a challenging D5.  If you have not had recent D5 trail history, we will contact you for hiking information and reserve the right to not put you on the event in the interest of group safety.  We will hike as a team on this one.

We will hike up (and up, and up) Emery Creek Trail and Tearbritches to Bald Mountain.  We will listen and see the gurgling stream along the way.  This hike is very pretty.  We will be checking out some awesome waterfalls.

Lots of water crossings - LOTS (too many to count, but somewhere around 16 each way).  I am hoping that there isn't too much water in the creek, AND, if there is rain the day or so before this hike, I will cancel it.  Otherwise, I am in my waterproof boots (as you should be) and will use my poles (yes, you should have poles) to aid in the water crossing.  There could be a stream that I would have to take my boots off and cross.  Are you adventurous?

Ralph and I did this last winter and thoroughly enjoyed it (even if Ann was quite sore).

There isn't much in the way of parking at the trailhead, so we will require folks to carpool (unless otherwise approved by the trip leader).  If you didn't get approved to drive yourself then I will put you on the waitlist.

We'll do dinner afterwards if there is group interest.  There are no open restrooms at the trailhead.

Required Items to Bring:

Water, lunch, layered clothing, poles, waterproof boots, extra pair of socks, something to dry off your feet.
