Itinerary:

Let's do a loop up to Springer Mountain and back. We will start the hike from the top of the Amicalola Falls and hike the AT Approach to Springer Mountain. We'll enjoy our BYO snack or lunch at the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. There, atop Springer Mountain, we will have a moment of contemplation and carpe diem. Seizing the day, each hiker is invited to share a poem, song lyrics, or quotes, especially about spring and flowers blooming and birds singing, etc. (this is optional). Then we will head back down off Springer Mountain. On our way back, we will stop at the Len Foote Hike Inn for a few quick minutes to enjoy a welcome cup of coffee and nice clean restroom. We usually luck into some homemade desserts, too. (Bring some tip money for the friendly, hard-working staff at the Hike Inn).  After our break we will continue back on the Len Foote Trail to the parking lot.

Note, this is NOT a beginner hike. If you don't have any recent D5 hiking experience with the AOC, please explain. Those with insufficient experience or explanation may be moved to the wait list.
