Let's show some love for the trails we so love!!!

Volunteers perform trail maintenance on the 20+miles of trails at the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club provides Crew Leader supervision, tools, work gloves (or bring your own), water and snacks. Volunteers should wear work clothes and comfortable closed toed shoes.

We will stay together working as a group & following the instructions of our Crew Leader. We will learn the procedures of how to make our trails better for today & for the future.

Arrive by 8:00 am to allow time for sign-in, and getting to the Ampitheater (Visitor Center picnic area) which is 5-10 minute walk from the overflow parking lot. We will group near the registration table at the overflow parking lot.

This is the write-up by the Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club:

Work Plan April 14, 2018 Trail Day
Registration will be at 8:00 am at Old Hwy 41 overflow parking lot
“kick-off” will be at 8:30 at Visitor Center amphitheater
11:30am end work ~ 12:00pm head home.

April 14, 2018 Trail Work Day Plan
We will be working on the Mountain Trail again between the Picket Line Trail and the Fire Road. Parking and registration at the Old 41 Lot, muster at the amphitheater, stage tools at the grassy sloped area next to the trail head, return tools straight to the maintenance area.
The work will consist mostly of more trashing the trail creep erosion, out sloping the trail in places, removing trip hazards, and finishing up some of the work from last month.
Here is the work plan for our work day. It covers the same area on the front of the mountain that we have been working on for the last several months. This covers 20 potential work sites that includes the annual clean out of the ditch on the fire road. Work plan for April 14
We will close the Lower Mountain trail again rerouting people to the Picket Line trail to the top. That was a big help especially from a safety perspective.

Next KMTC Trails Work Day is on Saturday 5/12.
