Itinerary:
Ok folks, I am hitting the KM trail to go the distance once again. We will meet up and start at the Kennesaw National Battle Field Park visitors center. We will be taking the whole 16.5 mile loop trek from Burnt Hickory to Kolb Farm and back. We will be going up the front of Big Kennesaw, down Little Kennesaw to Pigeon Hill turn to cross over to Cheatam Hill to the Illinois Monument where we will stop for a snack and rest. We will continue on towards Cheatam Hill Rd to Kolb Farm. Once we arrive there we will rest and fuel up again and then start our return. We will NOT be taking the backside of Little KM (thus no worries of having to hike up hill 2.5 miles) to get back but will loop to the right at Pigeon Hill this will lead us back around to the visitors center. THIS IS NOT A BEGINNING HIKE yet, if are an intermediate hiker and ready to try distance, you may want to challenge yourself and try this . Because of the distance, if I have not hiked with you before, I might be contacting you to ask about your previous hiking experiences especially if you do not have at least 3 recently posted hikes. Distance can be just as difficult as elevation so I want to be sure that I am not going to lose the standard 15% of my group half-way through (those who don't know me..that is a joke they actually allow me 50%). If you have any questions feel free to email me.

Required Items to Bring:
Plenty of fluids (min. of 2 liters) snacks/lunch
Hiking boots or trail shoes with decent socks
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Hiking poles

How to Get There:
Event Directions:75 North to Barrett Parkway (exit 269), turn left onto Barrett Parkway, go 1.9 miles, you will cross over HWY 41/cobb parkway, to Old Hwy 41 turn left, go 1.5 miles and turn right onto Stilesboro, the parking lot for the visitors center is on your immediate left. If it is a beautiful day out, parking may be crowded, you can park on the side of the road off of Old Hwy 41, you will see other vehicles parked there. We will be stepping off no later than 8:45 because we want to make the most distance while the air is cooler.

Notes:
This is event will be cancelled if there is severe weather...we will still hike if it is a light rain.
