Note that 1) You must register/pay at a 3rd party web site HERE, IN ADDITION to registering for the AOC event.  It is recommended that you register for both at the same time 2) We'll ride as a group at least until the 1st rest stop  You may also start independently if you prefer (if so, please let me know in advance of ride start) 3) We'll meet to the right of registration on HERE by 7:45 (I'll be there by 7:30... look for the bike with blue handlebars). We'll then head to the starting line a few minutes before 8:00.

Come ride with us for the 18th Annual Beautiful Backroads Bike Ride in Cartersville, GA.

Registration opens at 6:30am on race day.  We will  begin the ride together at 8:00am. No one is required to ride as a group. There will be different paces for different folks.  

The Beautiful Backroads Century (BBC) offers a variety of mileage options through the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Mileage options are approximately 14, 31, 48, 66 and 100. The route intensity is moderate and becomes hillier for the 100 mile route. 

To help you in planning your ride distance:  The 48 mile route splits from the 31 route at mile 17;   66 splits from 48 at mi 25 (just after rest stop) and the 100 splits from 66 at mile 58 (rest stop at 56).  

Support throughout the ride is abundant with support vehicles and rest stops every 15 – 20 miles. The rest stops are well stocked with snacks and cold water/gatorade. The post ride meals is served buffet style, with coupons provided for Busch products.  There is typically live music as well. 100% of all proceeds from the ride benefit The Hickory Men's home for the Developmentally Disabled.

Ride will go on, rain or shine. No refunds or exchanges.

2018 Cost: $40 until Aug 31, $60 thereafter and on day of ride

Carpools for 3rd party ride events: If any rider(s) would like to arrange an "informal" carpool, I can communicate that to the group.  In this case, the suggested carpool location and time is provided below. I don't typically formalize this, since riders typically finish at different times, and I wouldn't want anyone left without a way to get themselves (and their bike) home.  

DISCLAIMER: The Trip Leader(s) for this event has (have) elected either to personally collect the funds that event participants are required to pay, or to require participants to pay funds directly to a third party . No funds will be paid to the Atlanta Outdoor Club for this event. Therefore, by registering for this event, you acknowledge and agree to the following: (1) the monies paid by registrants will not be monitored, managed, or otherwise accounted for by the Atlanta Outdoor Club; (2) that the Atlanta Outdoor Club bears no financial responsibility for this event; and (3) you waive any and all claims against the Atlanta Outdoor Club, and hold the Atlanta Outdoor Club harmless for the loss of any monies you paid for this event.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, any paying registrant may request directly from the Trip Leader, prior to the event, a breakdown of funds collected, estimated expenses, and deposits made in anticipation of the event. Following the event, the Trip Leader must complete his or her financial accounting for the event, with supporting documentation, within 30 days of the completion of the event, and a paid registrant may request a breakdown of funds collected, money spent and supporting documentation after that time. If you are unable to obtain requested documentation, please contact the Director of Paid Events.

From Atlanta:

•    Go north on I-75 to exit 296

•    Take exit 296 (Cassville-White Rd)

•    Take a right on Cassville-White Rd

•    Go approx 200 yds and take your first right on Busch Drive

•    Go approx 2 miles and you will see brewery on your left

There will be plenty of signage directing you to parking for the ride.


You are responsible for your own bike maintenance. SAG is available, but ultimately your responsibility.
