Itinerary:

** PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A BYOB (BRING YOUR OWN BOAT) EVENT. **

Join us for a fun summer paddle along a flatwater section of the Etowah river.   The Etowah River is a 164-mile-long waterway that begins northwest of Dahlonega, Georgia. We will be doing a section (13 miles) above Lake Allatoona starting near Ball Ground and finishing at Etowah River Park.

There will be plenty of time to stop and swim as well as a rope swing (assuming it is still there)!! And if the water levels are right we have some shoals to play in that were created by old fishing weirs. 

You will be required to bring a PFD! 

Car Shuttling:

We'll be running our own car shuttle and your TL's will direct everyone once we drop the boats off at the put-in location.  The drop off location doesn't have an official launch or parking area, but it's a good place to start. There's a small dip down from the main road (E. Cherokee) to the really short road that goes to a dirt area where we'll be.  If you drive a low profile vehicle, you might want to park on the main road temporarily and we'll help get your boat to the river.  From here, all drivers will drive to the take-out and we'll bring one or 2 vehicles back depending on how many people we have.

Kayak or Canoe (No rafts/blow up pool toys as your main transportation down the river)
PFD
Paddle
Lunch
Water/beverage (No glass on the river)
Snacks
Water/River shoes or footware you don’t mind getting wet or dirty

Notes:

This event is rain or shine, but we will not paddle in severe weather. Your TL's will watch weather as it gets closer to the event.
