Itinerary:

The QuickStep format meets a new location!

Join me as we apply the fast paced, fitness-like hiking speed to Leita Thompson Memorial Gardens (LTMG)! We'll be making a 10k combination of loops at the park to one get some good distance and, of course, stretch out the legs at one of Roswell's (and the AOC's) favorite parks! It's situated right off Highway 92 (Woodstock Road) and a lot of passing vehicles do not even know about this lovely local resource...we'll take full advantage of Leita's legacy! More about the park here (http://thefarm.typepad.com/ngmo/2009/06/leita-thompson-memorial-park.html)
On this route we'll be taking two full, non-stop loops on the RED TRAIL + all of the extensions to get the distance we need + adding in a third time around the pond. The first loop will be in the traditional direction, then we'll change directions once we get near the cars again to change up the scenery. When we approach the pond for the second time we'll loop it twice, making it three times around the pond total. I wouldn't worry about the path we take, just follow me and I'll get you through it.

This is not a beginners hike, if you know me, you probably know my local trail hike pace...10k in 1:45...plan accordingly. Let's have some fun & get fit all at the same time! #HeresToRecovery

Event Directions:

There are three entrances to the area:  first one for the dog park, the second for the arts center building/overflow, and the third for the pavillion.  We will be parking at the "overflow lot" in front of the fenced in gardening area, so one of the first two entrances. If you're new to L.T.M.G. use the GPS link above next to the LAT/LONG coordinates. The closest address to the "Overflow Lot" is:

Leita Thompson Memorial Garden
1355 Woodstock Road
