Itinerary:

This is not like a normal intown D3, it is quite a bit harder than most and much wilder.

This is a weekly event that never takes the exact same route twice. We will generally cover about 6 miles but it could be more or less depending on how hilly or rocky the week's hike turns out to be.

You will likely enjoy the event if:

  • you like your "trails" to be as steep, rocky and/or narrow as possible
  • you like moving at a constant fast pace without breaks (3-3.5mph)
  • you like to see who else still shows up in terrible weather
  • you like doing a bit of scrambling over, under, down, and up things
  • you want the feel of an out of town hike while still ITP
  • you do D5 hikes on weekends and are looking for something to do after work

You will likely not enjoy the event if:

  • you don't read this write up completely
  • you like stopping to take group pictures
  • you don't enjoy getting dirty and banged up a bit
  • you like calling the trip leader to say that you are "5 minutes away"
  • you don't like driving your car to the end of a narrow rough dirt road
  • you like to worry about the exact stats of the event
  • you like to know where you are going
  • you like to like to stop to enjoy your drinks

WE WILL MEET AT THE INDIAN TRAIL ENTRANCE WHICH IS DOWN A SHORT DIRT ROAD, GO ALL THE WAY TO THE END! There is a $5 parking fee payable with cash or you can use your Chattahoochee Rec Area annual pass / national parks annual pass.

Additionally if it is raining don't bother calling to see if it is still on. The answer is yes it is. Finally we will be leaving on time and you should be there a few minutes early. If you are late we will not be waiting and the nature of the event makes it very difficult for you to catch up or find us.
