Itinerary:

This is a beautiful hiking spot at Pine Mountain in Cartersville with seasoned trail systems, Allotoona Dam, Cooper’s Furnace, picnic areas, and it’s close to home. We will take longer breaks at our stopping points to fully enjoy the nature. If you’re in a hurry, then this outing with longer breaks is not a right event for you.

We’ll meet and start from the West Loop parking lotWe’ll cover all of the trails including West and East Loop Trails, connecting trail to Cooper's Furnace, Laurel Ridge Trail, and connecting trail to Allatoona Dam. We'll take breaks at the summit, the picnic area of Cooper's Furnace, and Allatoona Dam.

Please only register if you’re comfortable with D4 hiking and steep climbingWe’ll go at a moderate pace of 2.5 mph, i.e. 2.5- on ups and 2.5+ on flats and downs. Everyone is expected to keep up. It’s not a slow & steady pace! Also the trails are steep in many sections, so it's critical you’re comfortable with that.

Parking is free, but there is no restroom at the parking lot. We can use store restrooms from the same exit off I-75 before we meet. Restrooms are available at Cooper's Furnace picnic area, or we can use many trees and bushes.

If your experience is not from the club, please include it in a note when you register, or email TL; otherwise you will be moved to the waiting list for the safety of everyone. We encourage our members to actively participate with joyful experience, and most importantly to stay healthy and safe at the end of our event.
