Elevation gain:  approximately 2700 feet

Distance: 10 miles

Pace is half fast - rather moderate.  Slow on the uphill and faster going down.  The hike will maintain a lead and a sweep.

We will leave Windward Park and Ride at 8:00 am.  We will stop at Ingles for a bio break before the hike.  Hike will begin close to 10AM.  Also, we will have dinner in Clayton before heading back.  If you don't want to have dinner, no worries, but let's make sure before we get into carpools.

If you want to meet at Ingles in Clayton please send Ann an email.

Hey, if you've not completed a recent D5, please send the trip leaders information on your recent hiking experiences (trail name, distance, date, pace), this enable us to ensure group safety.  If I don't get an email from you, I will move you to the waitlist.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $80.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

If you are not an experienced hiker, or do not have previous D4 and D5 experience, this hike will be too strenuous for you.  I will contact hikers who do not have recent D4 and D5 experience to determine if this hike is suitable for you.  This is for the safety of the individual hiker and to ensure the entire group can maintain an appropriate pace.

If you sign up late, and do not have appropriate D4/5 experience and I am unable to contact you, I will remove you from the list - for the safety of the group.  Please understand that I would have to do this to ensure group safety.

* We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines while participating in AOC events.
