Itinerary:

This is a clockwise loop of 12 miles.  Elevation gain is approximately 2800 feet.

If meeting at the event, please do not park directly in front of the VC, use the side lot.  Hiking will commence at 8:30AM.

We will began behind the Amicalola Visitor Center(2,150 elevation) at the East Ridge Trail Arch. The trail is one mile to the top of the falls parking lot (2,850 elevation) . It has a Mountain travel of 80 ft gain for every 500 ft of trail! Once at the parking lot we will proceed north to the Appalachian Approach Trail and clear Frosty Mountain (3,382) where at 4 miles we will turn at the junction Southeast to the Len Foote Inn trail ( Hike Inn Trail 2,927) for 1 mile. This will be our halfway point for lunch. The Inn offers snacks and bathroom. (please leave tip in jar if partaking).  After lunch we head south where we will cross over a couple of bumps (3,024). The trail will have foot bridges crossing over tributaries from Cochran Creek and a small ridge trail with wonderful views! Overall we are retracing our steps back to the Visitor's Center. Total Mountain Travel is around 2800 feet.

Hey, if you've not completed a recent D4 or higher, please send the trip leaders information on your recent hiking experiences (trail name, distance, date, pace), this enable us to ensure group safety.  If I don't get an email from you, I will move you to the waitlist.
