Itinerary:

This is a 12 mile moderate to strenuous hike with 22 water crossings.

The hike starts in Tennessee where we take the 4-mile Beech Bottom Trail to Jack's River, where we will arrive at the spectacular Jack's River Falls, the most powerful falls in the North Georgia backcountry – an 80 ft. drop in two tiers. There is a great swimming hole between the two drops. We'll stop here for lunch and a swim.

After lunch, we'll follow the Jack's River Trail for 8 miles as it fords the river 22 times.  Depths usually range from mid-calf to mid-thigh, but if we have significant rain in the days prior to the hike we'll be looking at waist-deep water at some crossings. You must wear appropriate shoes and clothing for the hike so that you can get wet and keep going.

Notes:
- Trekking poles or a hiking stick are strongly recommended for this hike.
- This hike requires a car shuttle.
- Important medical note: This area is populated more heavily than most with bees and wasps.  If you suffer severe reactions to bee or wasp stings, please make sure you bring proper medication or skip this hike altogether.
