Itinerary:
Join us for a weekend of Rockclimbing, camping and the best Gourmet Wood fired pizza you have ever had!!!

Climbing--- We will be mostly boldering. So there is no previous rock climbing experience needed. Just good health and the yearning to do some good routes with good friends! If we have enough experienced people on the trip we will also do some top rope climbing. The climbing will be all day Saturday and most of the day Sunday (til our blisters can't take anymore!)

Camping--- We will be camping just down the road from the Rocktown lot. Friday night if you like, Saturday night then packing up Sunday.

Camp activities--- Good company, cold drinks, campfire, HUNKER DOWN!!!!! Yes I will be fully geared up for some more rematches on the HUNKER DOWN Buckets!!! (BUNKER DOWN for those with an accent) If you have never heard of Hunker Down just ask some people on my previous trips, you will LOVE the game (a newfound addicition to say the least).

FOOD!----- Friday night (for those that wish to go up Friday night) we will stop along the drive up to eat at a Home Cookin restaurant in Emerson GA (Doug's Place) It is the best Darn country cookin you ever had!
Saturday mornin---- INCLUDED IN TRIP COST I will be bringing eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, maple syrup, fruit, english muffins, and cheeses for SATURDAY breakfast. I will not be cooking this meal though, it will be up to all the participants to pitch in on the cooking for this meal (ingrediants supplied).
Saturday lunch--- bring your own sandwiches etc...
Saturday snacks--- bring you own snacks (I will supply a case of cliff bars for everyone)
Saturday Dinner---INCLUDED in TRIP COST THE BEST GOURMET PIZZA EVER prepared and cooked right in front of you in my custom made wood fired pizza oven.
Flavors-- Portebella and Goat Cheese pizza
--- Smoked Salmon, creme fraiche, and dill pizza
--- Prosciutta, roma tomato, mozzerella pizza
--- Roma tomato, Mozzerella cheese, and basil pizza
--- I will also bring some extra surprise ingredients to make some additional pizzas at will.
All my pizza dough and sauces will be fully prepared a day or two ahead by myself, all homemade.
Sunday morning--- INCLUDED IN TRIP COST I will be bringing eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, maple syrup, fruit, english muffins, and cheeses for SUNDAY breakfast. Sunday snacks and lunch--- bring your own
Sunday dinner--- We can stop somewhere on the way back TBD at campsite by vote.

I will add 5 experienced climbers that I have climbed with that have their own gear, ropes, crash pad etc, before registration opens in order to be assured we have enough experienced people on the trip. Plus we need to make sure we have enough crash pads etc for everyone to climb and not have to wait too much. The first 5 climbers that send me an email with the list of their gear will be added. Note I have ONE Crashpad. and ONE rope

NOTE: Beginners are welcome, but please bring your own harness, shoes, belay device and locking carabiner. We may be able to share some gear if anybody has extra. Be sure to bring camping gear!

Saturday morning carpool----- Can be arranged for anyone who doesn't want to come camp with us Friday night.

Required Items to Bring:
Climbing Harness (If you would like to toprope) Climbing shoes, Chalk, Great sense of humor! Tent sleeping bag, pad, Food, Wood for fire, Water (about 2+ gallons for the weekend per person) Snacks when climbing Saturday breakfast and lunch, Sunday lunch

Helmet, Trail Mix, Good energy bars Eat healty. :-) Camp chair, bug spray, sunscreen, Hat, sunglasses ,beverage of choice in the CAN! Please do not bring glass bottles!

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Event Directions: Pigeon Mountain, Lafayette, GA 10:00 a.m. - Rocktown Parking Lot - Take I-75 until north of Atlanta. - About 1/2 way between Atlanta and Chattanooga watch for I-75 exit for Resacca, Lafayette, (HWY 136) - Turn L onto HWY 136 & cross over I-75. - Go 6.5 miles to T intersection turn Right to stay on HWY 136. - Go 14.3 miles (through Villanow & over mountain) to T intersection & turn Left to stay on HWY 136. - Go 1.3 miles and turn Right to stay on HWY 136. (be careful this intersection will sneak up on you). - Go 3.9 miles to HWY 27/136 (traffic light) - continue straight ahead to HWY 27 in the town of Lafayette, Georgia. - Turn Left onto HWY 27/193 and go a short distance. HWY 193 north will turn Right. - Go 2.7 miles on HWY 193 to Chamberlain Road and turn Left onto Chamberlain (Fina station on Right) - Go 3.3 miles on Chamberlain Rd to Crockford-Pigeon Wildlife Area sign on Right - turn Right onto gravel road. Take this road approximately. 1.8 miles (as the road steepens it gets rougher, and goes up the Mt. via a series of switchbacks) Lost Wall Parking is just past the fourth switchback on the left. Continue past the Lost Wall pullout up the mountain. The road improves again once it levels off near the top of the mountain. - When the road splits, take the Right fork (Rocky Road ) 1.3 miles further. - Turn Left onto Rocktown Road (sign) dirt road 1/3 mile to parking area. Trailhead is @ the right corner of the parking lot, next to the information kiosk. There is a flat trail leading 1 mile to the climbing area.

Notes:
State Park frowns on loud beer drinking shenanigans .... let's not give them a reason to visit our campsite. Note: Alcohol is prohibited at this wildlife management area. The rangers will make you pour your drinks out if caught. Flask (Coozie) at your own risk!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Event will occur rain or shine, Will cancel if the whole weekend will be covered with severe storms.
Important information for paid events in which payment is managed through the AOC:

     - Payment must be received by the payment due date and prior to participation in the event.

     - Some paid events require a minimum number of registered participants. If that number is not met, the event will be canceled and refunds will be issued to those who have already paid.

     - Third-party vendors often require damage deposits. Each registrant agrees to be liable for and required to reimburse the Atlanta Outdoor Club for any withheld deposits due to the actions of or damages caused by that registrant.

     - No partial payments. All registrants must pay the posted Member Cost regardless of any agreement you may have with any party involved in the event.

     - Read the event description carefully for additional information, and contact the trip leader(s) with any questions.

Payment may be made via paypal, pc banking, or check. It is your responsibility to get the payment in by the due dates. Allow 2 days processing for paypal and one week to mail a check. No partial payment for partial attendance. IF PAYMENT NOT RECEIVED BY DUE DATE I WILL REMOVE YOUR REGISTRATION!
