Itinerary:
The original Alpharetta Greenway is a concrete trail about 6.15 miles in length. The greenway runs along Big Creek roughly parallel to North Point Parkway, from Webb Bridge Road on the north end to Mansell Road on the south end. A soft mulch trail encircles a large wetland between Haynes Bridge Road and Mansell Road. Wildlife such as blue heron, deer, ducks and Canada geese can be observed in this preserved water setting paved trail through surprisingly beautiful woods considering its "urban" setting. For more info see: http://www.alpharetta.ga.us/index.php?p=136. The Alpharetta Greenway has recently been extended on the south side to extend to Big Creek Park...we will walk down to check that out as well.

Meet new friends, catch up with old ones and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors while getting some good exercise. Not a bad way to spend a couple of hours. We will be meeting at one of the south entrances north of Mansell road and walk for around 90 min to 2hrs, covering about 5-6 miles.  The entire greenway is extremely flat with nothing really even remotely resembling a proper "hill".   So we will go at a good pace and try to get a little workout in that way.

There are restrooms at the trailhead. No charge for parking.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

-Take exit 8-Mansell Road off of GA 400 and go east (if you were originally northbound on 400 turn right at the end of the ramp, if southbound then turn left).
-Go to North Point Parkway (.1 to .2 miles from ramp depending on your direction on 400)
-Turn left (north) on North Point Parkway and get in the right lane and go .7 miles to Ethan Allen building on right
-When you reach the Ethan Allen-GO SLOWLY.
-There will be a small sign just past Ethan Allen that says 'Big Creek Greenway Parking'
-This sign is easy to miss if you're going too fast and you'll whiz right by it and have to turn around.
-Turn right at sign and proceed to parking
-Look for my green Subaru Outback station wagon with the rear door up
