This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Note:  Sorry for the inconvenience.  In order to hike on GA DNR land, each member must purchase a license [if you were born before June 30, 1952, you do not need a license!].

-For single day use, even just for hiking, the most affordable option is a Combo Hunting/Fishing (Short Term) license for $5 plus $2.50 online handling fee [you can purchase it at a sporting goods store and avoid the $2.50 fee].  For the one-day license, make sure that you enter the date for our event!

-If you think you will hike again in the next 365 days on GA DNR land, you can go ahead and purchase a one-year fishing license for $15 plus online fee.  This is the most affordable option for a yearly pass.

-Go here to purchase:  https://www.gooutdoorsgeorgia.com/

We wanted to try and get out of town again on a weekday and check out a beautiful area of amazing waterfalls located very close to the city.

We will head out from the Wildcat Creek Camp Ground and will see a few waterfalls eventually along the many trails in the area.  We will be avoiding crossing any of the creeks [except on bridges].  So, no need to bring water shoes.

We will maintain a fairly slow pace at around 3 MPH.  We will plan to have lunch at one of the waterfalls or other waypoints.  We will be out on the trail for about 3 hours and will want to get back to the carpool by 4:00.

I am listing it as exploratory because I have not been to some of the areas before or it has been a while.  We will potentially visit an off-trail fall.

I hope you can make yourself available for a fun day!
