Itinerary:

The hike is about 10 miles round trip at a moderate pace. We will start at the top of the falls at the trailhead. Please plan on bringing a small lunch/snack. We will stop at the Hike Inn for our lunch break. The Inn will often have some bread, dessert or fruit left over from dinner the night before that you can take in exchange for tips for the Inn employees, but this is not guaranteed.  There are generally beverages as well including lemonade and iced tea.  It is possible to see the Atlanta skyline from one of the vistas on the hike if it is clear.

 


Required Items to Bring:

Good hiking shoes, Water and snacks/lunch, Clothing appropriate for winter weather conditions with temps in the 30s and low 40s during the hike.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

From the Park & Ride we will go north on Georgia 400 past the outlet Mall to GA 136. Left on 136 till GA 52. Right until the park entrance. Instead of parking in the Visitors Center lot, take a left before the lot and head up the hill to the Trailhead.

 

If you are meeting at the event please be at the trailhead at 8am!

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $40.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
