Our hike will begin with the orange trail clockwise for 2.3 miles. In order to hike the orange trail, we must began with the yellow trail for a short distance while crossing the bridge over the creek. Once we finish the orange trail we connect with the yellow trail clockwise for 3.0 miles . When we finish the yellow trail there will be a brief bathroom break at the visitor center. After the break, we start on the white trail clockwise for 5 miles to finish. This hike has approximately 1500 ft elevation gain. This is apparently a somewhat long hike, so let's be in fairly good hiking shape! I would like to see some high D3s and some good D4s and above for sign up. I will use my discretion in judging your ability to hike this event. Please no audible music or tree climbing!

Sweetwater Creek State Park hiking trail parking lot near the visitor center: Take I-20 west from Atlanta, exit #44 at Thornton Road, turn left and go 1/4 mile. Turn right on Blairs Bridge Road, go 2 miles and turn left on Mount Vernon Road. Travel a couple more miles and into the park. Just after crossing over the lake, look for a sign that says hiking/nature trails, and take a left there (there is a small entry gate). Continue straight to the end of the road to the parking area.

Will hike rain or shine! Not in severe weather.

There is a $5.00 parking fee at the park.
