Gahuti Trail hikes Fort Mountain’s beautiful backcountry, looping 8.2 miles through remote stretches of this Georgia State Park. The Gahuti  (Cherokee for ‘Mother Mountain’) treks to a beautiful, multi-tier waterfall at Goldmine Branch Creek and passes four campsites on this moderately challenging loop hike. This trail is very technical so the pace will be such that everyone is able to hike the trail safely. We will be staying together.  We will not be "running" or moving at a fast pace so if that is what you are looking for, this hike is not for you.

We’ll climb and descend numerous elevation changes and our ‘reward’ will be incredible long-range views from multiple overlooks.

We will find a nice spot in the woods or hopefully make it to the waterfalls to eat our lunch prior to finishing up our loop.  Get ready for some awesome views!!

Safety first: Liquids are a must: bring at least 2  to 3 liters of water.

The carpool will leave PROMPTLY at 8 am and the hike will start at  approximately 9:45 am.
