Itinerary:

Do you ever wonder (or worry) about an "out there repair?" Will you know what tools are required to get you back to the parking lot or home? Do you want to gain some FREE knowledge from a professionally trained bike mechanic without having a pushy salesperson trying to push useless tools, tool kits and accessories down your throat?

Well, now is your chance.
I plan on meeting at the Roswell end of the Greenway at the lower parking lot just around the corner from the restrooms (bring a camping chair so you're comfy) at 9 am, this Saturday to discuss basic "out there repairs" and introduce you to some tools that can change a potentially deadly situation into a "gosh I fixed my own bike and had a great ride" ride!

As I mentioned this is kind of the basics, but we can cover topics based on the groups biggest concerns. However, in past events that I've done like this (non-AOC) generally folks want to know about the basics...so the basics covered will be:

Tire & Tube repair and/or replacement
Fixing a loose bolt, nut or screw in a variety of locations on bike
Adjusting squeeky brakes
Adjusting brakes in general : Disc, "V" Brakes and cantilever styles
Adjusting Front and Rear derailluers : Shifting issues
Bike lube and where to really put it
How to fix a blown front/rear shock
Where is that creaky noise coming from...it's not me syndrome
Adjusting clipless pedals & how to get the most from those pedals
Air pressue in tires during and after ride
How to utilize the Greenway provided tool stations
How to get the most out of the bike you purchased...do you know what it's capable of?

...and more if addional questions stem from this...

So, bring your bike (or NOT) and I'll bring the knowledge to help make your cycling experiences more enjoyable. I'll have a handful of tools to get you familiar with, mostly tools that you can carry with you...because what's the point of having the knowledge to fix something w/o having the TOOLS to actually do the work with.

Please do not bring a bike that is in total disrepair,if you have to ask yourself is this bike safe, it probably is NOT, go to a professional bike shop today.
