Elachee Hike (CANCELLED) CRK’s Wild and Scenic Film Festival (STILL A GO)

WILD AND SCENIC FILM FEST -Still a go. Doors open at 6pm. Charles and I will meet y'all there.

Hike - (CANCELLED)

Come join us for a 5.5 mile hike at the Elachee Nature Science Center followed up by the CRK's Wild and Scenic film fest. This film fest is unlike the Banff film festival. It's more environmental, which impacts our daily lives.

We'll be hiking a figure 8, which will include the east and west trails along with the Dunlap trail twice to make our figure 8 loop. totalling 5.5 miles (Orange and part of pink trail.

If you would like to park at the parking deck of Brenau Science Center (directions will be below) to carpool over to Elachee please meet at 1:45. There's $5 per car fee to get into the Nature Center, but the trails are free to hike.

If you want to just meet at the overflow lot at 2 pm, that is fine too.

The visitor center has restrooms, but we are not parking there.

Film Fest - STILL A GO

If you want to carpool over to Elachee, meet at Breneau at 1:45

If you want to meet directly at trailhead (overflow lot), be there at 2 pm

We'll start the hike promptly at 2 pm. We won't be power hiking so expect 2 to 2.5 mph

Were giving about 2.5 hours for this hike for break and take pictures. We're prettytty sure there will be wildflowers in bloom.

We'll finish in enough time for you to change clothes and if you want and go grab food. The Wild and Scenic Film fest doors open at 6 pm. They will have light hors d'oeuvre along with beer to purchase. There will also be booths set up, and raffles. Charles and I will be getting there 1/2 hour early to get a section for AOC'ers to sit together.

Carpool:

Unfotunately we won't be running a carpool just because Charles and I are on the completly opposite side of town (Woodstock). We'll be coming across Hwy 369 to 400 straight into Gainseville.

If there are folks out there, who want to set up their own carpool, Indian Trail is a good meeting place. We just can't drive there, which is an hour and then drive another hour to the event.
