Itinerary:

Let's do a loop up to Springer Mountain and back. We will start the hike from the top of the Amicalola Falls and hike the AT Approach to Springer Mountain. We'll enjoy a short break at the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail before heading back down. On our way back, we will stop at the Len Foote Hike Inn for a few minutes to enjoy our (bring your own) lunch and perhaps a welcome glass of lemonade or hot cup of coffee. We usually luck into some homemade desserts, too. (Bring some tip money for the friendly, hard-working staff at the Hike Inn).  After our lunch break we will continue back on the Len Foote Trail to the parking lot.

Note, this is NOT a beginner hike. If you don't have any recent D5 hiking experience with the AOC, please explain your recent (within the last 6 weeks) fitness endeavors in the "notes" section of your registration. Those with insufficient experience or explanation may be moved to the wait list.

Also note, there is NO carpool for this event. We will meet at the top of the falls parking lot a few minutes before 8:30 am to begin hiking promptly at 8:30.
