We did this event earlier in the summer and it's time to go tubing again!!! No hiking or exercise permitted on this one. We will meet at Cool River Tubing for a cool float down the Chattahoochee River through downtown Helen. About midway through the tubing there is waterslide which we have the option of stopping at. The whole ride down should take 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Although the event is rated easy, this is not a flat water float. There will some sections where the river will flow fast (the more the better) and you may have to get out if you get stuck. For those that have come from other regions, this is not the type of tubing you can tie a tube with a cooler next to you.
Once we get back to Cool River headquarters there is an area to change. After that you are are your own. You can get a quick lunch, explore the town of Helen or head back home.

Required Items to Bring:
Footwear such as water shoes, sandals or old athletic shoes. Flip flops are not recommended. Swimsuit.

Change of clothes, towel, sunscreen, snack to eat before event as 1:00 to 2:00 PM is the estimated finish time.

Exit GA 400 and go north. When GA 400 ends at Chevron station. continue on GA 115. Go 4.8 miles where GA 115 meets GA 52. Turn right. Continue on GA 115 until Cleveland GA. At traffic circle in Cleveland go north on US 129. Then look for GA 75 which will shortly follow. Go north towards Helen. At Helen take a right at Brucken Strasse. Look for the large Cool River Tubing parking lot. The address of Cool River Tubing is 590 Edelweiss Strasse, Helen, GA 30545.

Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $52.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Cost Includes:

The charge for the standard tubing trip is six dollars per person and an additional five dollars if you choose to use the waterslide which is in the middle of the trip. You will probably also want to bring some money for lunch in Helen. Payment will be made by each person to Cool River directly the day of the event.
