Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

The event says Mountain Bike - but it can be customized for Gravel & CX bikes...sure you can use a mountain bike, but the roadies might make fun of you :P
28 miles of secret fireroads, secret trails + a few post ride AB's perhaps.
Don't let the photo FOOL you....it will be cold, loose, rooty, rocky, intense, arduous and insane...expect the worst, hope for the best :P

If you want to ride fast in the dirt & gravel this is for you
If you love climbing mountains on bikes, this IS for you

If you don't mind trading flesh with trees, rocks, gravel and/or dirt this is for you
If you like getting the full "exploratory" effect, this is for you
If you have more energy than sense, this is probably for you too
If you're scared to ride on a mix of roads, FS roads or trails, this is NOT for you

If you want to look at scenery, this is not for you
If you have to ask what a CX or gravel bike is, this is probably not for you either.

The route is listed as exploratory, but we'll have great working trail knowledge guidance by JH.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

8510 Doublehead Gap Road
Blue Ridge, GA 30513

GPS coordinates :: 34°41'27.1"N 84°15'26.3"W
If you drive on your own be at the Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church at least 20 mins early. This is the location at the entrance to FSR 42 at Doublehead Spring Gap Rd...not to be confused with location at FSR58/ since it is a church parking lot we have been asked to park furthest away from the entrance so we do not interfere with the members parking for services....another reason I capped this at 4.

Carpool to Event Distance (round trip):140Mile(s)
Carpool Departure Time: 7:15 am
Carpool Location:   Log in for location

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $56.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Notes:

I can drive my car (Lil Sasquatch) that can carry three bikes.
