Please come and enjoy the trails on and around Red Top Mountain - we will hike approx. 8 1/2 miles on the Sweet Gum Trail (red), Homestead Trail (yellow), White Tail Trail (white). 8 1/2 miles - 4 hours is approximate - may be over/under on time and mileage - not a fast paced hike
Meet at Red Top Mtn State Park & Lodge (Park Office). At 9:00 our hike will start and we will hike out of the parking lot by starting on the Sweetgum Trail which will connect with the Homestead Trail. The White Tail Trail is a very short trail but has some beautiful views of Lake Allatoona.
These trails have some elevation but I take hills slow and easy. We will hike at a moderate pace and take a few very brief water breaks
NOT A FAST HIKE - not quite leisurely either - a nice, comfortable pace
We will be meeting the LODGE parking lot (not the visitor center). Follow signs. On the map above the Lodge is right where the red and white trails meet.
See notes below regarding parking and restrooms
