Itinerary:
Two hikes, two trails, one full day.

PINE LOG - Moderate difficulty, but with a couple of challenging hills; moderate pace.  pace will slow on the hills and we'll just take it easy.  Hope to complete first hike at Pine Log in 2 1/2 hour - 4 1/2 miles. Pine Log is comprised of two loops, east and west.  This 4.5 mile trail winds up and down through mixed hardwood and pine forests that make up these 240 acres of Green space.
From the parking lot, we’ll start with a nice, mostly flat, approach trail.  From there, we’ll take the west loop up into the hills.  There will be hills!  Where the west and east loops intersect we’ll take the east loop.  From there, we’ll make a very short detour to the site of a former CCC quarry.  We’ll return to the east trail, pick up the west loop again, and make our way back to the parking lot.    There are No restrooms at this location.  Hike starts promptly at 9:00 and we should be back to the parking lot by 11:30

***Then we'll head over to the GARLAND MOUNTAIN TRAILS (about a twenty minute drive).  At Garland we will meet at the picnic tables.  There are restrooms here.   Garland Mountain we will hike approx. 7 miles - pace will be moderate (not super fast).   again moderate trails, some hills, nothing too challenging but we will take those hills slow and easy.    These trails are horse trails so we may have to share the trail and watch where we step.  Beautiful trails maintained by CHerokee County and the Friends of Garland Mountain.  Drive from Pine Log less then 30 min. so we should all plan on being to Garland by noon and hike will begin at around 12:15 (or as soon as we can all regroup).  Hike should be over and we should be back to our vehicles by 3:30.

There is no fee to use the park or trails at either location.
