Itinerary:

This is an out and back trekking to Brasstown Bald, the highest summit in Georgia standing at 4,784 feet. On a clear day we’ll have panoramic breathtaking views from four surrounding states.

We’ll meet and start from the trailhead at the top of the hill of Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church. We’ll follow Wagon Train Trail for about 7 miles to Brasstown Bald Recreation Area. This is one of the three trails going up to Brasstown Bald.

The last section is a paved Brasstown Bald Trail leading to its summit and surrounding facilities. We’ll take our lunch break at the summit, and enjoy everything it has to offer. After break, we’ll retrace the same route to get back to our cars. The total elevation gain is a little over 3,000 feet mostly on the way up.
