Itinerary:

Join me for a brisk loop around Stone Mountain on the Cherokee Trail and then a jaunt up the Mountain to relax and watch the sunset. The sun will set at 5:32 on November 17th and the weather forecast looks great for an afternoon hike - sunny and 59 degrees.

We will begin the hike at the Confederate Center (near the restrooms). We will hop on the Cherokee Trail and take a clockwise loop around Stone Mountain, connect with the Nature Trail, and return to the meeting location.  The pace on the Cherokee Trail portion of the hike will be moderate so that we can finish the 5.7 miles in 2.25 hours with a few short breaks.

We will hike to the top via a trail through the woods that is more peaceful and less well traveled than the walkup trail. At the top of the mountain, we will hang out for awhile, take pics, and enjoy the scenic view and sunset. It may be cool on top, so be sure to bring a hat, gloves, scarf or whatever you need to be comforatable.

After the sunset, we will be walking down a quiet trail through the woods, so please bring a small LED flashlight or headlamp to avoid tripping.

Please take the time to look at the park map and parking options in order to be on time!

If you have any questions - please call, text, or send me an email.
