Itinerary:
Strenuous (Overall hike is 6 miles, but VERY STEEP)

One of the most spectacular canyons in the eastern U.S., Tallulah Gorge is two miles long and nearly 1,000 feet deep. Visitors can hike rim trails to several overlooks, or they can obtain a free permit (limit 100 per day) to hike down to the gorge floor. A suspension bridge sways 80 feet above the rocky bottom, providing spectacular views of the river and waterfalls. We will hike down into the gorge floor! Overall hike is 6 miles, but VERY STEEP.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Tallulah Gorge S.P Tallulah Gorge Interpretative center 3/20/04 at 10:00 AM. Take I-85 North to I-985 which ends at US 441 North near Gainesville. Take 441N to the city of Tallulah Falls and the S.P. entrance is on the right.

Notes:

Is this a rain or shine event? NO, steep descent and slick terrain – trail closed in rain!
Check the weather before departing. Are dogs allowed? NO.

Cost Includes:$2.00 hike permit per person (pay at the park)
$4 per car (pay at the park) - Park Pass accepted at this park.
