Itinerary:

We'll begin our hike on the 2-mile loop at Powers Island.  This loop affords one good hill, but is otherwise not difficult.  Then,  we'll cross the bridge over the Chattahoochee to Cochran Shoals, where we'll enter the Interstate North section of trails for another 4-5 miles of more difficult hiking.  There are some challenging hills here, so we'll get a good workout. When our time is up, we'll cross back over the Chattahoochee to the Powers Island parking lot.

This hike is definitely not one for beginning hikers or for folks who have done only relatively flat hikes.  I won't leave people behind, so the entire group will have to wait for very slow hikers. Please respect others and don't overestimate your ability to handle this hike.

Required Items to Bring:

$5 for parking (cash) unless you have an annual pass.

Good hiking shoes

Plenty of fluids

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

Hiking poles are recommended for the Cochran Shoals portion of the hike due to steep ascents and descents.
