Spring at Table Rock / Hike 2 to the Rock

This is hike 2 of 2 at South Carolina's Table Rock State Park. We've taken the best of Table Rock and divided it into two accessible D4 hikes. Join one or both back-to-back day hikes.

Hike 2 winds its way to the top of the park's namesake, Table Rock, an imposing granite dome that peaks at 3,124 feet. Beginning at the Nature Center, we'll hike a section of the scenic Carrick Creek Nature Trail, featuring a dense forest and views of cascading waterfalls. From there, we'll go up the sometimes steep, rocky, and challenging Table Rock Trail to the summit to enjoy lunch and spectacular views.

Estimated distance is about 8.5 miles, with elevation gain of 2,200-2,300 feet and technical terrain. The estimated duration of the event is a best guess; we'll be moving at a moderate pace but we'll break when needed and won't rush through it. This is a solid D4. If you don't have recent D4 or above experience, this is not a suitable event.

If doing this as a single day trip, the park is about a 2.5 hour drive from Atlanta. The trip leaders plan to stay overnight in the park's cabins the nights of April 1 and 2. (https://southcarolinaparks.com/table-rock/lodging) There also are lots of lodging options in nearby Greenville.

Daily park entrance fee is $6 per person, cash only.
