From peaceful Lake Winfield Scott, we’ll enjoy a view of rushing Slaughter Creek and then ascend on the Slaughter Creek Trail.  We turn left on the AT then after about 3.5 miles of steady climbing, we’ll be at the summit of Blood Mountain.  The elevation gain is about 1500 ft so you need to be in good shape to keep up with the group.  We’ll take about 45 minutes to enjoy the view then we’ll descend back to the lake via the Jarrard Gap Trail.  We’ll take the 7-mile loop at a moderate pace.

Please arrive at the Mansell Road Park and Ride before 9:00 am.  If you prefer to meet at Lake Winfield Scott, please arrive by 10:30 am.
