Itinerary:

Join us for a 18 mile, out and back ride on the beautiful, paved, multiuse Alpharetta Greenway trail. This trail is mostly flat and offers an easy senice ride. However, since we're AOCer's well kick up the pace a notch and take a quick ride that should last no longer than 1.5-2hrs.

We'll meet at the south end of the trail at Old Alabama RD entrance. Make sure to drive past the first parking lot you see down a longish entrance road. You'll see another parking lot as you veer to the right. It will likely be very busy and parking can be limited. So please arrive 15-20 minutes early. Once you park, we'll gather down at the trailhead at the far end of the parking lot.

Social Distancing/Masks - Because of the health crisis, please do not gather in at tight group at the beginning of the event and at breaks. Also, please bring a mask or ... better yet ... get a Buff ... yes that's the name of the product. It's a tube shaped thin, stretchy cloth you can pull over your mouth, nose or entire head if you choose to ride that way. It can be used for general hiking and is available at most sporting stores. If you don't wear a mask/Buff, you will get lot's of dirty looks, some lecturing, and 'double secret' social distancing!

Pace - Since there are people with different riding levels, the pace is variable. We will target a flat surface pace of 14-15 mph and take one or two breaks along the way. The total ride time is 1.5 hours but expect about 20-30 minutes of time for breaks.

Ability Level - The greenway is an easy ride. Very flat with only one short hill at the turning point. BUT cycling is an activity that makes riding ability, strength, and stamina an important factor in enoyment of the ride. We recommend that riders be in good physical shape and use a light weight bike. Road bikes are excellent and most hybrid bikes will be good option as well. If you are new to riding or don't have a good bike, this ride is likely not for you.

**PLEASE NOTE** A bike helmet is required for this event. If you don't have a helmut, you'll be asked not to ride with the group.
