Itinerary:

Lets begin our hike at the Overflow Parking Lot (park towards the back). The walk to and from the parking lot to the mountain gives us the extra half mile on our distance. From the parking lot, we will go to the Visitors Center and stop briefly for a bio break if anyone needs the loo. Water fountains are closed so have your water with you.

We will head up and over Kennesaw on to Little Kennesaw and head down to the Burnt Hickory side of the Park. We will immediately turn around and head back the way we came. We will try to stay together at an average moving pace of 2.7 mph.

We have labelled this hike a fast pace. To complete the hike in under 2.5 hours you must have recent D4 experience and be comfortable maintaining a moderate to fast pace with only short breaks for consuming water.

If you do not have a pass for parking, please go to www.recreation.gov/sitepass/2788 to get a pass before the hike. The Visitor Center is closed and you will not be able to purchase a day pass.
