Weather:  our best window for the day has been chosen but there is still a storm risk.  I will watch radar and make the decision if we need to cancel so watch emails from 8 am and thereafter
"Rain but no thunder" will not stop the hike given temperatures will be in the low 70 degree range with no wind
1:45 moving time
515 foot elevation gain
3.4 mph average; 3.8 mph at times
100% pavement; no dirt trails
no roots, no rocks, no mud, no trees, no sticks, no stairs, no water crossings
The park is the largest park acreage for the City of Atlanta and is dominated by 18 - hole North Fulton golf course which will provide multiple long fairway views as we hike the golf course perimeter.
                 Dogs are welcome.
Meeting place

We will meet at the "storm shelter"(a small covered bus stop-like area) at the north end of the Red Parking lot.  This location is next to the Amphitheater and in front of the covered horse practice facility so it should be easy for everyone to locate.

Plan to meet a few minutes early for our socially distanced circle of hikers for hiker introductions.  We wll depart on time and leave promptly.

There is no restroom in the Red lot but there will be a restroom stop 0.5 miles into the hike, a portolet 2/3 through the hike and restrooms near the end of the hike.

Required Items to Bring:

comfortable clothes and shoes, and a smile  : )

Pavement:  I suggest wearing cushioned sidewalk running shoes over wearing trail shoes if you have them.

Masks are not required but we will strive for social distancing

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

How is your rain gear? umbrella?

This is a great scenario for a gear test and you would rather find out this way than in other scenarios

How comfortable is your face mask in the rain?  not required
