The park is the largest park acreage for the City of Atlanta and is dominated by 18 - hole North Fulton golf course which will provide multiple long fairway views as we hike the golf course perimeter.
Dogs are welcome.
We will meet at the "storm shelter"(a small covered bus stop-like area) at the north end of the Red Parking lot. This location is next to the Amphitheater and in front of the covered horse practice facility so it should be easy for everyone to locate.
There is no restroom in the Red lot but there will be a restroom stop 0.5 miles into the hike, a portolet 2/3 through the hike and restrooms near the end of the hike.
|How to Get There:|
We will meet in the RED parking lot at the corner of Elliott Galloway Way & Powers Ferry Rd NW.
The above photo shows the sign at this parking lot entrance.
From south of Chastain Park, go north on Roswell Road to W Wieuca Road NW.
A couple dogs may be allowed as long as they are leashed and well-behaved. Please be prepared to clean up behind your pet to help keep the park nice for everyone.
"Please be advised that attendees of AOC events should have face coverings on their person, in the event they are unable to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet.
The AOC continues to follow federal, state, local and CDC guidelines to help contain the spread of COVID-19. A national Executive Order enacted on January 20, 2021 states “...on-duty or on-site Federal employees, on-site Federal contractors, and other individuals in Federal buildings and on Federal lands should all wear masks, maintain physical distance, and adhere to other public health measures, as provided in CDC guidelines.” Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park and the CRNRA parks are examples of federal lands.
* We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines while participating in AOC events.
Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review the AOC cancellation policy.
