Itinerary:

Let's return this week to Charleston Park in Forsyth County for our Monday morning hike.  This is a trail that is used for both mountain biking as well as hiking. The 5+ mile trail meanders around a cove on Lake Lanier, and has several small and gradual elevation changes. The trail is not terribly wide so we will walk against travel direction of bikes. Everyone will need to be prepared to move out of the way quickly should bikers approach.

I've added 1/2 hour to the hike to enable us to complete both the inner and outer loops of the park, which cover all the trails. The area is beautiful, with lots of views of Lake Lanier.

There are several picnic tables close to the parking lot with scenic lake views.  For those who can spare the time, pack a picnic lunch and let's have an after-hike meal by the water!

Required Items to Bring:

Comfortable hiking shoes

Fluids - - a must!

Bring along a mask in case social distancing isn't possible on the trails.  (CDC Guidelines)

Recommended Items to Bring:

Picnic lunch if you can stay for a while after the hike!
