Itinerary:
3 short moderate hikes totaling no more than four miles.

Some 12 miles north of Indian Trail on I-85 north, we join I-985, which exits off the two left lanes, and travel just past the Tallulah Gorge and over the gorge bridge. Very shortly after we turn left to the road that winds around the scenic Lake Rabun, and make our first stop at Lake Rabun campground #2, where we will visit our first trailhead in that recreation area. This trail goes to Panther (Joe Creek) and Angel Falls on a moderate trail a little over one mile and a half in length. From their we travel further, to the end of Lake Rabun and cross over the end of the lake bridge and under the Lake Seed Dam. Then we travel up the hill to our right turn to a well graded gravel road that goes to Lake Seed recreation area; which has a small beach, concrete picnic tables, restrooms, and grills beside the tables. We are leaving early to make sure we get a couple of these before lunchtime crowd. After firing up the charcoal grills, there is a short walk to Bad Branch Falls nearby (less than a Half mile), while the coals burn down. After coming back we will enjoy the facilities as much as any one wants to, swim in Lake Seed next to the relatively small manmade beach, sunbathe or just hangout around the grill and consume mass quantities and relax for a good bit of time. We will grill whatever food of choice you bring for your own taste, which can range from burgers to hotdogs of regular or turkey variety, chicken or kabobs. The cost and kind of food will be everyone’s individual choice. After our grilling and relaxing we will travel to one last waterfall, Crow Creek Falls; the nicest of the group, and a very short hike to a photogenic waterfall; and nice one to play around.

Then we will all return to the big city; and those that want can enjoy each other’s company for drinks of choice at a restaurant close to the park and ride.

This is the easiest of events I will ever lead, and is meant for fun and relaxation with a minimum of short hikes to lovely waterfalls to add to the day’s enjoyment. Bring your sense of fun and relaxation.
