Pickett's Mill Battlefield State Historic Site is one of the best preserved Civil War battlefields in the nation. The terrain today closely resembles the dense woods described in 1864. The site contains a steep ravine, Pickett's Mill Creek, the mill ruins, and several miles of well-marked hiking trails.
